Thom Brokerage & Consulting is proud to spotlight the forward-thinking leadership of Pinaymootang First Nation in their recent initiative to introduce curbside garbage pickup for the first time ever.
This significant service enhancement is a vital step forward for the community and will directly benefit its citizens.
Up until now, residents of Pinaymootang had to personally haul their own garbage to the Nation’s landfill, which proved to be particularly difficult for Elders, individuals with mobility issues, and even the community’s vehicles.
Recognizing this challenge, Chief Kurvis Anderson and Council worked together to purchase a brand new garbage truck from us that will soon make curbside garbage pickup a reality.
Empowering Communities through Improved Services
This new service will not only ease the burden on citizens but will also create employment opportunities for at least three community members.
The leadership’s dedication to providing essential services highlights their commitment to the well-being and sustainability of Pinaymootang First Nation.
In addition to garbage collection, Council member Blair Thompson has expressed the community’s hope to one day expand this initiative to include recycling services, further supporting the environment and infrastructure of the Nation.
